Dr. Steve Harnagel:

Education:

   Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Radiology, 1987

 
Upon graduation from veterinary school in 1980, Dr. Harnagel practiced as part owner of a mixed practice in Lockeford, CA until 1984.  He returned to the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine as a house officer in radiology, completing a three year residency in 1987.  He established Veterinary Medical Imaging in 1987, serving the greater Sacramento area and Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys.  Dr. Harnagel has special interests in ultrasound and general diagnostic radiology.  His interests outside of veterinary medicine include whitewater rafting, fly-fishing, photography, woodworking and most recently, wine grape growing.


Dr. Craig Long:
Education:

   Residency: 1995-1999, University of California, Davis
   American College of Veterinary Radiology Diplomate- 1998

Following a one-year associate veterinarian position in general practice, Dr. Long returned to UC Davis to complete a four-year residency in radiology.  He joined the faculty at UC Davis as half time Clinical  Professor position from 1999 through 2005 and is still involved with the UCDavis as an Adjunct Professor.  He has been an associate with VMI since 2000.
 
Dr. Long's areas of special interest include diagnostic ultrasound and interventional radiology.  His personal favorite activities include flying, kayaking, home improvement, and outdoor adventures with the family.


Dr. Eric Herrgesell:

Dr. Herrgesell completed his training in Veterinary Radiology in 1997 with the completion of the board certification exam and began as a member of the staff at the University of California Davis in the teaching hospital. While at the university Dr. Herrgesell was involoved in the development of ultrasound as an elective course for the second and third year students in addition to clinical duty.  Since 2005 he has been in private practice in the greater Sacramento area providing radiology and ultrasound support for the area veterinarians.  He remains very involved with professional speaking conferences around the country and internationally.


Dr. David Detweiler:

Dr. David Detweiler graduated from Kansas State Veterinary School in 2002, and went on to complete a small-animal medical and surgical internship at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in Ventura, CA.   Following his internship, Dr. Detweiler completed a four-year residency in radiology at the University of California, Davis.  In his free time, Dr. Detweiler enjoys jogging, restoring older cars, and spending time with his wife and three children. He lives in Davis, CA.
